John Lewis made this statement on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma,
Alabama on March 1, 2020 commemorating the tragic events of Bloody
Sunday. Bloody Sunday occurred on March 7, 1965

core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to
nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any
potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
