We're standing in solidarity with the people detained inside, and with everyone who has been detained, deported, disappeared, or killed by ICE. We'll light candles, hold a moment of silence, and speak their names. Part of the national Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action.

• Arrive by 7:50 — look for the MVFF banner
• Parking: the lot next to the jail, or street parking on Wood Street. Please NOT the jail's own lot.
• Bring a candle if you have one — we'll have extras
• Bring your own lawn chair if you'd like to sit — we won't have seating on site
• All are welcome

This is a peaceful vigil, not a confrontation. Per the Good Trouble Lives On pledge, which applies to everyone attending: nonviolent and lawful at all times, de-escalate any confrontation, non-partisan (no candidates or ballot measures on signs), and no weapons of any kind — including legally permitted ones.

You've stood with us before — on the courthouse steps, in the street, in the rain. We're asking you to stand with us again, and this time we're asking you to bring a candle.

This Sunday night, the Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters will gather outside the Mahoning County Jail for a candlelight vigil. We're there for the people detained inside — our neighbors, pulled from their families and stripped of due process — and for every person across this country who has died in immigration custody.

We will light candles. We will speak their names. We will refuse to let them be forgotten.

Arrive by 7:50 so we can begin together. Bring a candle if you have one; we'll have extras. Bring a light jacket — it cools off after dark.

A note on parking: use the lot next to the jail, or street parking on Wood Street. Please do not park in the jail's own lot.

This is a peaceful, prayerful gathering — a vigil, not a confrontation. All are welcome, seating will be available, and you're welcome to stay for as much or as little as you're able.

Six years ago we lost John Lewis. He taught us that silence in the face of injustice is its own kind of violence. Sunday night, we will not be silent.
